FACTS Family Portal

FACTS is a leading school software management program that allows the school to stay in constant contact with parents and students. Some of the benefits of Family Portal include viewing student grades, attendance, and homework assignments; streamlined communication between the school and families; and the ability to pay lunch charges and school fees online. Parents and students will find Family Portal to be a valuable resource in staying up-to-date with the school. Lunch Menu

FCA offers a hot lunch program full of nutritious and healthy entrees every day of the week from Mondays to Thursdays!  Friday lunches are reserved for the senior class for their pizza sale fundraiser.  Lunch orders are taken daily by your child's homeroom teacher, and the lunch charges will be posted to your family's lunch account daily. Login to Family Portal to view and pay the charges at anytime.

Closing & Delays

There are several notification procedures in place for school closings and delays related to inclement weather. All families will receive an email and text message about any adjustments to the schedule.  If you would prefer to receive a phone call, please contact the school office and we can make that adjustment for you. Changes to the schedule will also be announced on our inclement weather hot-line at 301-473-8990 ext. 9, NBC 4 (Washington D.C.), and WDVM 25 (Hagerstown). Announcements will also be posted to our Facebook and Instagram pages as quickly as possible.

Please note the following policies regarding FCA closings and delays:

  • If there is a delay, school will start at 10:00 a.m. for all students. Early care will open at 9:00 a.m.

  • If school needs to be canceled early or if aftercare needs to be shortened, we ask that students be picked up within 30 minutes of the early dismissal time to give our staff time to travel home safely.

  • FCA does not always follow the decision of Frederick County Public Schools regarding delays and closings.

FCA PTA Committee

The PTA Committee of Frederick Christian Academy provides the foundation for most of the volunteer activities of parents. All family members and friends of FCA students are invited to be members of the PTA.  Periodic meetings are held to organize various activities and support functions throughout the school year, including the annual Fall Fest and elementary field day. FCA Uniform Policies

We want FCA to be an environment where students can develop Christ-like habits and focus on academics. Therefore, our uniform and school attire guidelines are designed to put an emphasis on neatness, appropriateness, and modesty. With these three goals in mind, we have specific expectations and limitations on student attire. When on campus for school as well as when on field trips, students should be dressed in a logoed school uniform purchased through our approved uniform suppliers.

Tommy Hilfiger through Global Schoolwear is the official uniform supplier for Frederick Christian Academy. Daily uniform polos and dresses, as well as dress uniforms, will be required to be purchased through Global Schoolwear for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Classroom approved outerwear will also be available. Uniform pants and skirts may be purchased from Tommy Hilfiger or from other suppliers, such as Land’s End or French Toast, as long as they model the colors and styles of the Tommy Hilfiger styles. Emergency Contacts

Frederick Christian Academy has contracted with Family Portal’s Parent Alert service to contact parents in case of a campus emergency or weather-related closing. This system allows our school to contact all of our school families and their emergency contacts in a very brief period of time. If you have any questions about the Parent Alert service, need to update your Emergency Contacts or your Family Portal account, please contact School Office Manager by phone (301-473-8990) or by e-mail at info@fcamd.org.
